Ex-Christian Social Network

for encouraging ex-Christians

On Sunday my friend Ryan and I visited a Methodist church because we need to keep up appearences with our families. It was the longest 50 minutes of my life.

To put it in perspective, I had been going to a Spanish church for about 4 months and I was always there for 3 hours, sometimes longer. 3 hours at a Spanish church is way easier than 50 minutes at an english church, because at an english service I actually understand all the dogmatic bullshit they're spewing.

I have an agnostic friend named Dusty that I thought would really enjoy hearing about my Methodist experience, so I sent Dusty a message that said:
"I endured the longest 50 minutes of my life at a methodist church yesterday"

He replied back: Ok?

I texted: Lol, I just thought that would interest you! It was my first English service in 5 months!
(
then I looked more closely at my phone and realized I was texting a different Dusty than I meant to!)
Me: "Omg! wrong dusty! I'm so sorry!"
"Nxt ur gonna tell me ur methodist, right? That would make the mix up twice as humiliating"

As luck would have it, he just became Methodist. I felt like such an ass!

What are the odds??????

I think this was destiny for him, and proof God doesn't think very much of the Methodists. He should heed this sign and go sign up on the ExC site, when it comes back.

P.S. Remember Brother Jeff in his prayers for our forum to be successfully restored on the new server. IT guys need all the divine help they can get!

If only texting devices could sense when a message was sensitive and warn / double check who the message is being sent to.

Keeping up appearances? That doesn't sound healthy for you.
