At 6:31pm on September 5, 2009, Patricia said…: It took me a long time to concede that I had been fed lies on the subject of religion as a kid, although not from my parents but from the community at large, which is where I caught the 'god bug'. My family weren't religious altogether, we were a mixture of theist agnostic atheist and spiritualist people, but one reason why it took me so long to discredit reason as an acceptable alternative to faith is that there are just so many believers in the supernatural in this world.

I found it hard to accept that so many people would be fooled by the lies.

It's kind of sad, kind of scary, how credulous people are.
