Ever since I get rid of meat in my diet, I have noticed a few changes in myself.
I become less angry and aggressive. Call it psychological effect or whatever you want, but that is how I feel. I do not want to define myself around a certain religion, but I admire what the Buddhists do. Gotama has said to monks before: "Monks, I allow you fish and meat that are quite pure in three respects: if they are not seen, heard or suspected to have been killed on purpose for a monk. But, you should not kno…

...religion didn't sit well with me. For as far back as I can remember, I always got this sick feeling in the pit of my stomach whenever I saw somebody in church doing the "happy dance". Hell, I was a kid, and I ain't "never" been "that" damn happy about "anything". All that jumping around, arms flailing, yelling and screaming made me think they were going crazy, and I never wanted to be around all that foolishness. Now, I know there are christians out there who will tell me that "I" need to be…

My parents came from different Christian backgrounds. My mom was raised Lutheran, and then Nazarene. My dad was raised Roman Catholic. My dad had left this faith by the time he started dating my mom (though retained a lot of the guilt and superstitions of his childhood). He didn't like confession or buy into the priest actually turning the communion into literally the body and blood of Christ - and if it were true it sickened him. My mom was brought up in all the protestant evangelical nonsense…

The Creation Story, as told by ME
In all things we know this truth - that there are no beginning and no ends in the turning of the great wheel. All things are born, they grow, they live, they die, and they are born again. We measure this. We call it “Time.” But before there was Time… there was only Infinite Potential.
The Infinite Potential culminates the essence of the divine Feminine. It is the womb that incubates all life and to it all things return. But it could not begin life alone. The S…

I received my first question about myself on my page and thought, “hey, my answers can be my blog so others can get to know me a little so here we go:
Your background also fundamentalist christianity?
Well, my father became religious all of a sudden while in the military and was overseas. So began the crazy religion train of my once normal family, lol. Started with Jehovah Witness, then Pentecostal then even scarier...the holiness church. Fire and brimstone and other polterg…

And don't know it! It would appear they are telling the truth, in an effort to prevent intellectualism. Problem is, it can also backfire on them. We here are evidence of that, for we chose to educate ourselves and a LOT of reasoning. lol I just feel sorry for those who do fall for anti-intellectualism, just so they can have "blind faith".
Not sure if I can hyperlink to the pic or not, so just follow the link.…

Most of you who read this have already spent a lifetime questioning and sifting through the different "holy" teachings and works and have come to the very real fact that it is all bull. You very likely are feeling as though you just woke up from a coma and most likely have a variety of strong emotions ranging from depression, anger, fear and a side order of resentment. Know that you are justified in your feelings and they must be addressed in order to move on.
You may be depressed over wasting so…

Several weeks ago, I found myself facing a perilous situation in which I was very frightened. Normally, my reaction in such circumstances is to immediately turn to God in prayer, and hope that things turn out for the best. However, in this particular situation I decided to very deliberately to…

I suppose, the one thing that makes today truly remarkable, is the fact that I did not feel guilty for telling an old friend why I don't go to church anymore. The issue, I explained to her, wasn't her church, but any church. If the point of church is to worship a god, and I lack a belief in any god, then what would be my purpose there?
Her answer, a typical one at that, was, "Well, all I know, life is so much better when I'm going to church." Why is that? How very sad. Either, her life so devoi…

A really, really poor argument by a creationist is to assert that the beauty we find in the world or the universe is proof of a Creator - the God of Genesis. While needlessly creating a universe so immeasurably large that it dwarfs our itty-bitty pale blue dot in scale by comparison, this Creator went out of his way to make us nice stuff to look at and enjoy!
Rainbows, flowers, butterflies, ne

While Barack Obama's former pastor was criticized by the right wing for condemning US domestic policy where the plight of African-Americans are concerned, we find that Republican VP pick, Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin shares many of the same views as a Christian Nationalist would. Any outrage from the right wing? Nope. She's just a drone in their Army.
As a drone, Palin adheres herself to every right-wing belief in the denial of reality. Anti-science - creationism in the public schools. America…

What you are about to read will play a role in determining the future of the world. Yes! No kidding! Hyperbole you say? I'll explain in a moment why not.
What is pseudeoscholarship and who are pseudoscholars? Benard M. Patton, in his book, Truth Knowledge or Just Plain Bull, observes that the pseudoscholar "controls the church and state, the educational systems, the press, and the economy." And just who are these psedoscholars? It is us.We are not the specialist. And if you ever attempted to re…

Apparently, this summer's recent Midwestern flooding, like we experienced in the Lake Country and in Iowa, is a
judgment from God.
The pastor also recalled televangelists who in 2005 said Hurricane Katrina was God's judgment on New Orleans.
"In a sense it is God's judgment because it's part of the curse. On the other hand, it's God's mercy because it's less than what we deserve and we're still alive and have the opportunity to repent,"…

Now that you've gone to service, said your prayers and gave God a few Franklins - it's time for a sermon from the other side of the aisle.

The other day, I was at the K-Mart in Oconomowoc, on a little visual research expedition. As I was strolling through the book section, How to Hear from God: Learn His Voice and Make right Decisions by that church lady from the 700 Club caught my attention. I quickly scanned the back. The book promises to teach you how to hear God's voice in…
