I understand completely,I spent twenty years as a music minister while stuggling with doubt. I still love playing some of the old hymns and newer p/w and ccr.I was in a xian rock band called "Messenger"Anyway feel free to email me and talk,.....agnostic7@att.net and I will love to talk(I was also a ordained Christian counselor for a few years.

Freedy, Ha, I didnt' take it that way (that the musicians are in hell) but lets face it if we go by the definition in the Bible probably a lot of them would be in hell!

I feel the same way you do. Its one of two things that bother me about no longer being xtian. I don't like the idea of nothingness after death, but I certainly don't like the idea of hanging out with the god of the Bible either.....My idea of heaven really would be LOTS OF MUSIC, nature, animals, and of course peace, love, all good. It still bothers me.

The other thing that bothers me is the purpose of life, what are we here for, and for such a short time, with nothing better to look forward to. Lets face it, there is a lot of suffering in the world. I would love to think that a child who was abused by his parents, or lonely old person, or an AIDS orphan or whatever - would have a chance at eternal happiness. It sounds like a fairy tale though.

I guess one other thing that bothers me is the lack of hope. I loved the hope of prayer. I loved the good parts of xtian community.

I feel like I could talk to you for a long time. I'd love to tell you about a few things. Are these comments private???? I don't come to this site often anymore. If you want to email me or chat online here is my email address/yahoo ID:

I still work for a Christian ministry and they have no idea about my beliefs (or should I say lack of beliefs).

Thanks for looking at my blogs and showing your boys my site. I wish my son appreciated music more!

Woops,I did not mean to suggest that any of those great musicians are in hell! As you you tell I still occasionally deal with god issues too. Feel free to discuss your issues anytime.Peace-out--Freedy

I just revisted all your blogs. You clearly understand the value and importance that music/art has on society.
Since deconversion three and a half years ago, relearning classic rock songs on my keyboard has saved my life. After writing over 150 xian songs over the last 20 yrs.,I am finally writing secular songs with my three sons who have all seen your tribute site. They all love and appreciate classic rock, punkpop etc. Thanks again, great work!

The only thing that occasional haunts me is the hell issue. It's like ufo's,ghosts etc,...I don't believe, but no one really knows.Rationally,I would not want to spend eternity with a diety that would create such a horrible place,my childhood indoctrination does sometimes get the best of me.I just can"t seem to completely shake it.Your rock legend website does help,I much rather spend eternity with them than let say,....Jerry Farwell?LOL!
