Most of you who read this have already spent a lifetime questioning and sifting through the different "holy" teachings and works and have come to the very real fact that it is all bull. You very likely are feeling as though you just woke up from a coma and most likely have a variety of strong emotions ranging from depression, anger, fear and a side order of resentment. Know that you are justified in your feelings and they must be addressed in order to move on.
You may be depressed over wasting so much of your life with a false belief. You may be angry over the fact that your life would be very different without the influence of religion. You might resent parents who you feel should have been smart enough to not fall for fairy tales. Maybe even a little guilt over not speaking out sooner or hurting your loved ones by your decision.
But the worst is the sense of being greatly outnumbered by those who choose to believe fantasy coupled with the despair of loneliness when you let go of the God idea.
Here is the bottom line! You must get over these as soon as possible in anyway possible. These feelings are toxic, unproductive and will rob you of even more life than religion already has.See a shrink, have it out with your parents, burn the bible or do whatever you have to do to get it out without violence.
Now the fun part. You have a new life!!! thats right you are a "born again" believer in yourself. You have complete control over your future actions and emotions. You are a good person who can now live a wonderful life of adventure and mystery. Your new God is the "Great Unknown". Your new religion will be the pursuit and sharing of knowledge.
I highly recommend that you take a moment and ask yourself this very important question. If you could do anything in this life..ANYTHING what would that be. If money were no object what would you do with the time you have left.Start here and dream big, live big. I would suggest to you that you need to not only survive, but, thrive and live with passion and without self imposed limitations.Dont spend one more day "making a living" instead design a life.
I believe we are at a beautiful and exciting stage of mental evolution. The mass exchange of information and commerce is accelerating us into the future whether we like it or not. Our word is spreading and more and more people on this planet are starting to see the harm that religion(not spiritualism) is causing. I say we should all be brave enough to speak out when people begin to cross the line from sharing there faith to pushing it. Do not seek arguments or rebuttals but do ask the hard questions respectfully and intelligently because your bravery may just save someone from a life of confusing contradictions and hurt.
Embrace your new life.Embrace the mystery of life and revel in your new freedom from guilt and fear.decide what you want out of life and make it happen because you are no longer a pawn in some game or master plan. I wrote this poem the day of my epiphany and I hope it inspires you.
As daylight fades and twilight approaches,
Swift and steady night soon encroaches,
So seize this very moment and contemplate your next,
What will you do with the moments you have left,
For no gravestone could ever eulogize,
The death of great dreams unrealized.
